FTI discusses response after Trump raises import tariffs to 36%

Mr. Kriangkrai Thienukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), revealed that today, an urgent meeting was called for all industrial groups exporting goods to the United States to brainstorm and find various measures after Donald Trump, the President of the United States, announced the policy of retaliatory tariffs (Reciprocal Tariffs), in which Thailand was charged a tax as high as 36%, almost three times higher than the government and private sectors had expected. The estimated damage from the tariff increase is around 800-900 billion baht. In the meeting, information about trade barriers related to Thailand was provided as follows:
